Privacy & consent
How your information is held.
A short summary of the privacy practices that govern this work. The full privacy policy and informed consent are provided through the client portal at intake.
Trust is the ground that therapy stands on. The practices below describe how information is handled in this practice, in plain language. The full informed consent document is reviewed with you at intake — there is space there to ask anything that matters to you.
- Confidentiality
- What you share in therapy is held in confidence within the limits required by Ontario law and CRPO professional standards. Limits to confidentiality are reviewed at the first session and documented in informed consent.
- Virtual therapy
- Sessions are delivered through PHIPA-aligned platforms (OWL Practice and Jane App). No sessions are recorded or stored as audio or video.
- Records & clinical custody
- Clinical notes, intake responses, and scheduling data live inside OWL Practice or Jane App. This website does not store any clinical or personal health information.
- Payment & receipts
- Payments are processed through OWL Practice or Jane App. Receipts include all details typically required by extended health benefit plans.
- Faith integration
- Faith integration is opt-in and consent-based. It is never imposed and may be adjusted or removed at any time without affecting the therapeutic relationship.
- Client rights
- You have the right to ask questions, withdraw consent, request your records, and end therapy at any time. These rights are reviewed at intake.
- Cancellation policy
- A 24-hour cancellation policy applies. Cancellations and reschedules can be made through the booking platform or by contacting Marcia directly.
